OM Sånafest
Sånafest er en årlig internasjonal stedsbasert kunstfestival som viser performance, installasjoner, dans og scenekunst, konserter og ulike tverrestetiske prosjekter i omgivelsene rundt landsbyene Hølen og Son. Festivalen har navnet sitt etter elven Såna som binder disse to små landsbyene sammen. Senter for festivalen er i Hølen.
På Sånafest får en oppleve kunst i hager, stuer, garasjer, i skogen, på/ved elven, på tennisbanen, i butikken, i en låve, på en vandring, i en kano, plutselig og uventet eller annonsert. Vi er interessert i hvordan kunstprosjekter kan forme og utfordre et sted, og hvordan stedet og de som bor her kan påvirke et kunstverk. Gjennom tett dialog med kunstnere og felles utforskning, ønsker vi å tilrettelegge for å skape helt særegne kunstopplevelser.
Historie
Det hele startet for 9 år siden da Ingvild Isaksen og Thea Færden Bringsværd arrangerte den første Sånafest, da under navnet “Sånafestivalen”. Den varte i tre dager og endte med at 60 publikummere ble sjøsatt i kanoer fra Son til Hølen, der de opplevde kunstopplevelser langs elvekanten under den store Amasånasekspedisjonen. Langs denne elvekanten dukket Mikkel Rasmussen Hofplass opp som en villmann innsmurt i Sånas heller urene elveleire, mens den som tok i mot ved ekspedisjonens ende var Andreas Strand Renberg utkledd som en trekkspillspillende sau. Det tok ikke da lang tid før teamet ble utvidet til å bestå av også disse to. Thea, Ingvild, Mikkel og Andreas har siden 2014 vært det kunstneriske teamet i festivalen, som sammen har skapt og lidenskapelig stelt og åndet for det som har blitt alle fires store hjertebarn, med tilholdssted og en enorm støtte i en helt fantastisk landsby.
Vi trodde alle at denne Sånafesthistorien med oss fire ved roret skulle vare mye lengre, men en sen desemberkveld i 2022, så altfor tidlig, seilte Andreas videre etter en lengre periode på sykehuset. Savnet etter han er veldig stort, men vi føler og vet at skapergleden og all den helsprø kreativiteten hans ligger dypt i årene og selve sjelen til Sånafest, og at han i høyeste grad gjennom festivalen alltid vil være tilstede. Vi er enormt glade og takknemlig for alle disse flotte årene hvor vi fire har fått lov til å leke sammen og stolte over alt det vi har klart å skape sammen. Vi gleder oss over de årene som har vært og til alle de nye årene som kommer i Sånafest sin historie!

Sånafest is an annual international site-based art festival that shows performance, installations, dance and performing arts, concerts and various cross-aesthetic projects in the surroundings of the villages of Hølen and Son. The festival takes its name from the river Såna, which connects these two small villages together. The center of the festival is in Hølen.
At Sånafest you can experience art in gardens, living rooms, garages, in the forest, on/by the river, on the tennis court, in the shop, in a barn, on a hike, in a canoe, suddenly and unexpectedly or announced. We are interested in how art projects can shape and challenge a place, and how the place and the people who live here can influence a work of art. Through close dialogue with artists and joint exploration, we want to facilitate the creation of completely unique art experiences.
History
It all started 9 years ago when Ingvild Isaksen and Thea Færden Bringsværd organized the first Sånafest, then under the name "Sånafestival". It lasted three days and ended with 60 members of the public being launched in canoes from Son to Hølen, where they experienced art experiences along the river's edge during the great Amasåna expedition. Along this riverbank, Mikkel Rasmussen Hofplass appeared as a savage smeared in Såna's rather impure river clay, while the person who welcomed at the end of the expedition was Andreas Strand Renberg dressed as an accordion-playing sheep. It did not take long before the team was expanded to also include these two. Thea, Ingvild, Mikkel and Andreas have been the artistic team in the festival since 2014, who together have created and passionately looked after and breathed for what has become all four's big heart children, with a place to stay and enormous support in an absolutely fantastic village.
We all thought that this Sånafest story with the four of us at the helm would last much longer, but one late December evening in 2022, so far too soon, Andreas sailed on after a long period in the hospital. The miss for him is very great, but we feel and know that the joy of creation and all his wholesome creativity lies deep in the veins and the very soul of Sånafest, and that he will always be present throughout the festival to the highest degree. We are enormously happy and grateful for all these wonderful years where the four of us have been allowed to play together and are proud of everything we have managed to create together. We look forward to the years that have been and to all the new years to come in Sånafest's history!
